Frank Swett Black (1853-1913). Born near Limington, York County, Maine. Republican. U.S. Representative from NY 19th District from 1895-97. Governor of NY from 1897-99. Delegate to Republican National Convention from NY in 1904. Measures 4 inches wide and 2.5 inch tall card, boldly inscribed "Frank S. Black." On the card is written "1901" at the bottom right edge. An attractive example of this signature.
