William Pierce Frye (1830-1911). Grandfather of Wallace Humphrey White, Jr. Born in Lewiston, Androscoggin County, Maine. Republican. Member of Maine state house of representatives in 1861. Mayor of Lewiston, ME during 1865-66. Maine state attorney general from 1867-69. U.S. Representative from ME 2nd District from 1871-81. Member of Republican National Committee from ME in 1872. U.S. Senator from ME during 1881-1911 (died in office). Acted as Vice President. 3.5 inch wide and 2.5 inch tall card, boldly inscribed "WmP Frye Me 1900." An attractive example of this signature.
