Original paper-covered boards with faded cloth spine; spine is damaged with extensive fraying but remains functional. Heavy staining to top and bottom edges of boards, and all interior leaves; the frontis and twelve woodcut illustrations remain clean and unaffected. A beautiful publication, quite battered, suitable only for reading, or framing the heliogravures. Not a collector's copy.
