Black three-quarter leather binding with purple pebbled cloth boards; minor rubbing to extremities and overall slight shelfwear, with loss of leather spine label with blind-stamping still readable. Text is very clean, with minor spotting to title page. This volume may lack an engraved title page, which is called for in the series publication. However, this appears to be the first trade edition, printed independently of the series called "Constable's Miscellany" as vol. 52 and may have been issued without the engraved title.
