Gilt title, author and date stamped on spine. Title page is slightly soiled, with top corner lacking, just touching the "H" of the title. Bottom corner chipped with no loss of text. Small ink notation on title and following page. Slight soiling scattered throughout text, with several pages with tiny tears or minor creases. Measures 6-3/8" in height. Previous owner's bookplate on front pastedown; Dr. William Sargant. Uncommon in the first edition. Isaac Watts (1674-1748).
