Small piece of notepad paper signed by the World War II hero. A Japanese dive-bomber kamikaze attact in the South Pacific on March 19, 1945 left the aircraft carrier USS Franklin severely damaged. Taylor led a group of fellow seamen in a successful attempt to use cutting torches to release the anchor and use the 540-foot chain as a tow line. The paper, moderately age-toned, is signed in pencil "Joe Taylor, Comdr. ODW? USS Franklin." No date, circa 1945. Military, Naval.
