Wide-margined and untrimmed, but most of the page edges are soiled, with minor to moderate foxing at the bottom margin entering text block. Protected in an attractive fleece-lined quarter leather slipcase with raised bands and gilt lettering on spine. These famous letters which Dr. Franklin somehow procured in London and sent back to Boston to his friend Dr. Samuel Cooper, and which, when published there by Order of the General Court, raised a storm of indignation and did more perhaps than anything else to bring the rising discontent to a crisis.
