Believed to be printed ca. 1810-1840 in Boolak, the port town of Cairo on a printing press established by Mehemet Ali. The printing establishment was renowned for its productions in Arabic, Persian and Turkish. Previous owner's name "T. Laurie, Beyroot, May 13 1845" and with notes on the publication on the verso of the title page. This is likely Thomas Laurie (1821-1897) biographer of regional missionaries. Original binding is stressed, with defective spine; text block separating. Minor staining scattered throughout text.
