Contains 9 maps and plates, of which 5 are fold-out, as well as several in-text illustrations. Apparently plate 8 was omitted by the binder. Text includes: 1) A Description of the Antiquities discovered in the Western Country; originally Communicated to the American Antiquarian Society, by Caleb Atwater, and; 2) Remarks made on a Tour to Prairie du Chien; thence unto Washington City, in 1829. The entire text is affected moderately to heavily by exposure to moisture, with rippling of pages, moderate to heavy foxing, and some staining. However, it remains intact, usable, and contains no unpleasant odor or mold.
