Three quarter red leather binding, moderately rubbed at the extremities, with a two inch crack to the top of the exterior front hinge. Front board cloth is soiled. Protected in custom stiff archival mylar. Text is slightly age-toned, but remains in excellent condition. Illustrated by a portrait of Dr. James Walker, then president of Harvard. Includes Robert Gould Shaw, Colonel of the Fifty-fourth Mass. Vols, the first black regiment to be raised in Massachusetts. The movie "Glory" is based on his experience.
