Two volume set. Vol. I: viii, 431 pages of text, [i] blank, followed by ciii (103 pages) containing a "Table des effets des melanges differents des terres de la lithogeognosie." Illustrated by one engraved plate facing page 421. Vol. II: 267 pages of text, followed by [v] pages including the errata. Vol. II title: Continuation de la Lithogeognosie pyrotechnique, ou l'on traite plus particulierement de la connoissance de Terres & des Pierres, & de la maniere d'en faire l'examen. Original full leather bindings with slight rubbing to the extremities, slight rubbing to spine, with a few tiny wormholes to spine and hinges. Hinges are slightly cracked, but remain attached, attractive and functional. Previous owner's bookplate neatly on front endpapers, and circular private library label affixed to bottom of spine of first volume. Text is clean and attractive with a few tiny spots of foxing here and there. Slight warping/creasing to the boards of the 2nd volume. Title page of the 2nd volume does not state "Tr[anslated] by Didier d'Arclais de Montamy" as in some copies.
