xvi, 164 pages of text including an index. Hardcover leatherette binding with minor shelfwear. Unclipped dustjacket slightly sunned on spine with minor shelfwear and soiling; protected in archival mylar. From the library of Theodore W. Schultz (1902-1998), winner of the 1979 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences jointly with W. A. Lewis. Signed and inscribed in ink on the front endpaper "From JPE via G. Stigler Dec. 14, 1973 [signed] T. W. Schultz." Schultz has added numerous ink comments, notes and underlining throughout the text. "JPE" is a likely abbreviation for the "Journal of Political Economy" with which Stigler, Nef, and Schultz were associated as contributors. A few margins have tiny chips and/or tears in what appears to be originally uncut and then imperfectly opened pages.
