An edition of 1050 copies designed and signed by Merle Armitage on a special limitation page. The sixteen Klee drawings, fourteen of which are previously unpublished, are used in this book through the courtesy of Curt Valentin of the Buchholz Gallery. "The Marionette Theater", suggested for this book by Ruth Vollmer, was translated from the German by Don Gifford. Printed by Peter Bielenson at Mount Vernon, New York. A few pages with tiny spots of discoloration, which appears to be an original paper imperfection rather than any damage.
