Original leather spine and corners with paper-covered boards; top of spine is chipped and heavily worn, and entire binding is quite worn, but remains intact and functional. Small label remnant at lower edge of spine, and two small circular stamps on title page (likely a printer's stamp). Previous owner's bookplate (circa 1900) on front pastedown endpaper: Henry von Wackerbarth. Illustrated by two copper-engraved portraits (Friedrich August and Maria Josepha), and two copper-engraved folding plates. A few tiny stains here and there, and staining to lower edge, affecting margins only. Minor browning to text. Title page and several pages of text printed in black and red.
