321 pages (254 pages, followed by 67 pages titled THE COSMOS). Grey hardcover cloth binding with black lettering and tooling. Illustrated with numerous plates and woodcut decorations. Biographical in nature, this work follows the life of Stowe from his birth in Flint Michigan in 1843 up to the date of publication. There are a couple of dozen pages referring to the 2nd Michigan Infantry in the Civil War, mostly about Spottsylvania, as well as a few other references scattered throughout the text. Notably, gives a story of Mrs. L. H. Seeley, known as Frank Thompson, the famous Nurse and Spy. Much of the book is devoted to occult experiences. The text is clean and unmarked. First edition in almost new condition.
