321 pages of text. Main work contains 254 pages, which is followed by 67 pages of text titled "THE COSMOS." Front cover title includes "Better Known As Visions On the Battlefield." Grey hardcover cloth binding with black lettering and tooling. Illustrated with numerous plates and woodcut decorations. Biographical in nature, this work follows the life of Stowe from his birth in Flint Michigan in 1843 up to the date of publication. There are approximately two dozen pages referring to the 2nd Michigan Infantry in the Civil War, mostly about Spottsylvania, as well as a few other references scattered throughout the text. Notably, gives a story of Mrs. L. H. Seeley, known as Frank Thompson, the famous Nurse and Spy. Much of the book is devoted to occult experiences. A series of short occult stories, real experiences during the life of a man 72 years of age, garnished in the clothes of fiction [see preface]. The text is clean and unmarked. This is the first edition, first printing in almost new condition.
