Bound in contemporary full leather bindings which are moderately worn, with most hinges expertly re-attached by Scott Kellar of Chicago. Illustrated with 154 plates, including three hand-colored folding maps (North America, South America, Asia), a folding map of Egypt, a plan of part of Cairo, folding views of the city of Balbec, Paris, and more including many ancient Greek cities, and three city plans and fortifications including Philadlephia, Quebec, and Louisbourg (Nova Scotia). The first six volumes have special American interest. Title continues "In which the Conjectures and Interpolations of Several vain Editors and Translators are expunged, every relation is made concise and plain, and the Divisions of Countries and Kingdoms are clearly and distinctly noted.
