Large broadside (11-3/4" x 18-1/4") announcing an auction. It reads "Sheriff's Sale! Jonathan W. King, Daniel W. Corwin, and William M. Cones, Partners, &c., vs. John Abbott, and John C. Chadwick. Attachment in the St. Louis Court of Common Pleas, returnable to Sep't Term, 1848, of said Court. No. 184, to said term. By authority of an order of sale made by the St. Louis Court of Common Pleas, on the 20th day of September, 1848, ordering and directing the undersigned late Sheriff of the county of St. Louis, to sell the property attached in the above entitled cause, in the manner prescribed by law.
