Two volume set. Rebound in three quarter black leather with green cloth boards; minor shelfwear to this circa 1960 binding. Previous owner's name on the front endpapers, and a simple library stamp on the title page and unobtrusively on the back of most of the folding maps. Complete with all maps (including two folding), lithogaphs, and engravings; includes a folding frontispiece view, which is stained at the top and is lightly foxed. The top corner of text is also lightly stained in some parts of the text, one page has a small corner torn out, and many of the maps and lithographs are affected by toning and/or light foxing, and some misfolding. An attractive, sound and complete copy of the first English edition.
