Seven volume set. 2028 pages of text. Rebound in black cloth; t.e.g (top edge gilt) and other page edges uncut, some pages unopened. Templar Edition, limited to 750 sets, of which this one is number 612. Illustrated with numerous photogravures by Wm. H. Gilbo and color lithographs by G.H.Buek & Co., most of which are protected with tissue guards. Many plates are present printed on two different kinds of paper. The front inner hinge of the first volume is weakened. Photogravure artwork is often by Lee Woodward Ziegler. Minor rubbing to the gilt on the top of the page edges, and other very minor defects. The text is overall very clean. First edition.
