146 pages of text followed by [vi] pages of subscriber's names. Illustrated with two plates titled "The Execution of Ten of Miranda's Officers" and "The Schooner Three Friends picking up Sherman, Lippincott, and Smith." Newly rebound in cloth with a leather spine label, retaining the original bookplate re-attached to the inside front cover. Ex-libris with a stamp on the title page, one interior page, and the final page. The title page was washed, and the edges and a tear expertly and archivally repaired. Some page edges are chipping. Title continues "...three years and a half. To which is added, a Biographical Sketch of Gen Miranda." Howes 644, 1814 reprint of the 1812 first edition "One of the few contemporary narratives relating to the Miranda expedition."
