Original gilt-lettered and decorated vellum binding with blue highlights is slightly bowed, and is darkened and discolored along the edge of the front board, and the rear board has darker discoloration at the edge. Complete with 25 tipped-in color plates, each with a tissue guard with printed captions. Additionally illustrated with black-and-white drawings throughout the text. Number 97 of 500 copies signed by Kay Nielsen on the limitation page. The edge or edges of the first half of the pages are significantly stained and discolored, and there is minor foxing to some margins. The discoloration does not affect the color plates or the text. Lacking the original slipcase, the book is protected in custom-fitted archival mylar. First edition.
