Three volumes uniformly bound in blue leather, with rubbing to the hinges and one hinge strengthened. ENGLAND: appears to be a first edition with title pages dated 1847 and 1848, and publisher listed as Punch Office. Both volumes are complete with the half-title page, each illustrated with 10 colored plates and 120 in-text black-and-white illustrations by John Leech. Small scuff to title page of first volume. ROME: no date on title page and printer listed as Bradbury and Evans. Contains 10 color plates and 98 in-text black-and-white illustrations by John Leech. All three volumes are bound in matching blue leather bindings; top edge gilt. Minor soiling to some page edges, one title page with a small crack at the hinge, and minor wear to the bindings. Measures 8.5 inches (height). An attractive set.
