Six volume set published between 1805 and 1809. Half leather binding is moderately worn, with small tears to the top edge of a few volumes, and one volume with minor chipping to the top of the spine. Contains 160 plates, of which six are folding plans/vews and one is a folding map. The set was previously held in an institution, and has call numbers stamped at the bottom of each spine which have been obscured to match the color of the leather. Each volume has a library bookplate on the inside front cover, each publisher's/copyright page has a small circular stamp, and the back of each plate is also stamped; other typical markings present. Previous owner's name on the title page: L. L. Richards. Most of the folding plans and mis-folded and have a margin that protrudes beyond the pages. There is minor soiling and wear to some pages, and a tiny tear here and there. A few pages have old repairs on them, including the often lacking "List of Embellishments [plates]" which are heavily browned along the hinge from old tape adhesive. Vol. I: 662 pages of text followed by xvi pages of index; illustrated with 7 plates including four folding plans. Vol. II: 540 pages, xvi of index; 11 plates including one folding plan. Vol. III: 640 pages, viii of index; 10 plates. Vol. IV: 579 pages, [i] blank, viii of index; 38 plates including one folding plan.
