Two volume set. Rebacked in 1980 with new paper-covered spines and printed labels, retaining the original paper-covered boards which are moderately soiled and worn. Illustrated with a folding plate which is a facsimile of Franklin's handwriting. Minor foxing scattered lightly throughout the text. A very small spot of staining to the top edge of several pages, and one page with a repaired chip, not affecting the text. Previous owner's bookplate neatly on the inside front covers. Vol. I: xxiv, 486 pages. Vol. II: xi, 480 pages including several pages of publisher's advertisement. Second edition, with additions. Sabin 25571.
