Apparently a variant of Howes H246 and Sabin 30585 with only 93 pages of printed text. Illustrated with a frontisportrait and three plates. Original printed paper-covered boards, with a faded cloth spine; heavily rubbed, with ink marks, soiling and staining; protected in archival mylar. The front inner hinge is cracked and loosening. A few pages with old ink marks, blots, and perforations. The final rear endpaper has modern adhesive residue staining. Most pages have minor foxing, and the final 40 pages have a small stain in the margin. The inside of the front cover is inscribed to "Gen'l G.D.B Keim Reading-Berks Co from his friend John C. Montgomery of Philadelphia." General De Bennevill Keim (1778-1852) was a warm and personal friend of Governor Hiester, who, in 1821, appointed him as aide-de-camp on his staff, with the rank of Colonel.
