Two volume set. Original full calf bindings. Three out of four hinges were archivally re-hinged. Gold-embossed leather spine labels were added to replace the original labels. The first few pages and the final 30 pages of the first volume have minor staining. Vol. I: [i] page of publisher's advertisement, [vi] pages, 635 pages of text, followed by [i] page of publisher's advertisement. Vol. II: [ii], 566 pages of text, followed by [xxiii] pages of index, followed by [i] page of publisher's advertisement. A few pages with minor soiling and creasing. Previous owner's name neatly on a front endpaper. An attractive first edition set.
