159 pages of text followed by [vii] pages of publisher's advertisement. Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece and several in-text engravings. "The Secret History of the Lady Jane Gray" has a separate title page dated 1710 also listing Nath. Crouch as the printer. Period full leather binding with the original hand-lettered paper spine label which is chipped. The binding is rubbed and worn at the extremities, with a few small repairs, remaining intact and attractive. An antique front flyleaf was added to protect the frontispiece. The title page has a small strip at the top margin which has been removed. Queen Anne Boleyn, consort from 1533-1536 of Henry VIII King of England (1507-1536). Lady Jane Grey (1537-1554). This rare first edition is not to be confused with the nearly identical edition of 1733 which was printed by A. Bettesworth, et al.
