1-page typed letter signed and with a handwritten note by Tufton Beamish. On embossed House of Commons letterhead. Beamish is reply to an inquiry by the Rev. C. Greenway of Brooklyn, and states that "I was in fact the Captain of the H.M.S. Invincible at the Falkland Islands action when four German ships were sunk. He instructs Greenway to obtain a photograph of him in uniform from a named agent, and offers to sign it stating the names of the ships he has commanded. After signing the letter, Beamish writes I regret that I cannot afford to make a presentation." Beamish was an English naval officer and Conservative Party politician.
