Twelve monthly issues bound in one volume. Each issue has the original color lithographed front cover and rear cover, which are not included in the pagination. Each issue has 32 pages, and contain articles written by employees about company events, our troops fighting in WWI, travel and vacation articles, poems, obituaries, and contributions from different departments on various topics. There are photos by Hartnett of the Eastland Disaster. Several issues contain play-by-play reports and other information about Chicago amateur indoor-outdoor baseball. Teams mentioned include the Whales (not the team of the same name in the short-lived Federal League), the Byrne Indians, the Krinn Colts, and other company teams named after brands such as the Two-Bits, O.V.B. and the Rev-O-Nocs. There is a photograph of Art Cremieux at bat, and a team photo of the Byrne Indians. The green cloth publisher's binding is stamped in gilt on the front cover. Previous owner's name handwritten an/or stamped neatly on the front wrappers or first few pages (R.H. Smith). There are a few small stains and tears here and there, but the text is relatively clean. This is as much of a company history that offers a detailed look at the concerns, interests, and goings-on in the life of the employees of this Chicago company. First edition.
