Original hardcover binding is heavily worn, with the entirety of the front exterior hinge cracked, minor cracking to the rear exterior hinge, moderate chipping to the spine, and rubbing to the extremities; protected in custom-fitted archival Mylar. Complete with 25 black and white illustrations of works by Paul Cezanne, Pablo Picasso, Derian, Jean Metzinger, Marie Laurencin, Albert Gleizes, Fernand Leger, Marcel Duchamp, Juan Gris, and Francis Picabia. A few pages with minor creasing, minor soiling to a few pages, and page 18-19 with numerous spots of discoloration. Previous owner's name neatly on the front endpaper. First edition. When first published in France in 1912 as "Du Cubisme" it was the first major text on Cubism, predating "Les Peintres Cubistes" by Guillaume Apollinaire which was first published in 1913.
