One-page handwritten letter on Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute letterhead. Dated January 09, 1900 and addressed to a yet to be identified recipient O.O. or G.G. or W.W. Crocker of Boston. A letter from the American Black educator seeking financial assistance on behalf of the students of the Institute. He writes "We are specially in need of funds with which to pay the tuition of the students. [Then] pay their own board partly in cash and partly in labor but are wholly unable to pay their tuition in addition. Any sum however small will help..." Folded into sixths, with a small paper clip stain and crease. Framed with a modern photographic portrait of Washington. Frame measures 18.25" (width) by 15.25" (height). Booker T. Washington (1856-1915).
