Provenance: 1st owner dated 06/20/1911 remains unidentified; 2nd owner Dickens bibliographer John C. Eckel (1858-1943) with his leather bookplate; 3rd owner J. Christian Bay (1871-1962) longtime librarian at the Crerar Library in Chicago. This was one of five First edition Galsworthy titles sold as Lot 172 for $72.50 in 1935 through Anderson Galleries auction of the Library of John C. Eckel. First edition.
