The book is illustrated with six color maps and 38 in black & white (showing battle plans) and sixteen black & white photographs selected by Edward Steichen. Inscribed and signed by the author on the half title page "with best wishes to Mrs. Louise Lieberman - Dwight D. Eisenhower." In another hand is written on the same page "Nov. 1950." Date of 1948 on title page and the copyright page, but this is not a first printing but is an early reprint edition. The text is clean and unmarked.
