xii, 115 pages of text. Original hardcover binding is lightly shelfworn and moderately soiled with a spot of staining on the illustrated paper-covered boards. The inner front hinge is weakened, and there is minor soiling to the text. Illustrated with seven tipped-in illustrations by Gordon Ertz, and a photographic frontisportrait of the author, which the author has autographed. Additionally signed and inscribed by the author on the front endpaper "To Rees Davis, With A Hope + Belief - [signed] Donald Robertson." The author has handwritten the word "Pinkie" after the title of the poem "Toone" on page 63. Included is a 1pg 14-line manuscript poem, apparently titled (or dedicated to) "Reese" which is handwritten and signed by Robertson. The poem, with an opening line of "A tear-washed sorrow left within your eyes" appears to be unpublished. Tipped-in prior to the rear endpaper is a 4pg publication titled "An Appreciation of Donald Robertson, which contains texts by Charles Collins, Thomas Wood Stevens, and Jules Bois. The text of the book is clean and unmarked. Donald Robertson (1860-1926) was a prominent Scottish-born stage actor, director, and producer. First edition.
