War of 1812; oddly shaped printed notice of the support of the people of New England for the war with Great Britain; from Connecticut. This statement appears to have been trimmed from a larger sheet, likely a petition or pledge sheet, with the area cut off where signatures might have been. The first sentence reads "Whereas great pains have been taken to impress the public mind with the idea that the War in which we are engaged, with Great Britain, is extensively unpopular;". Measures approximately 8 inches (width) by 2 inches (height) which varies to about 2.5 inches.
