Rare Map and Book Fair at the Newberry Library

The 2025 Map and Book Fair will be open to the public on Friday and Saturday of the lecture series weekend, featuring map and book dealers from across the country exhibiting rarities that are available for purchase. 

The 22nd Nebenzahl Lecture Series is titled:  Mapping from Mexico: New Narratives for the History of Cartography.

On Friday, October 17 the Map and Book Fair is open 5:00–8:00pm (Tickets are $40 and include hors d'oeuvres and drinks).

On Saturday, October 18 the Map and Book Fair hours are 9:00am–5:00pm.

Kurt Gippert Bookseller will be offering for sale numerous rare, antiquarian, collectible, limited edition, signed, autographed, and special edition books, historic documents and manuscripts especially literary, travel narratives, voyages and other journeys, and color plate books including those related to natural history.

Extra consideration has been made to assemble and exhibit a selection of rare, unusual and uncommon books relating to Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
